Commonweal’s Call for New Ideas has CLOSED – new partners announced soon
The deadline for applications to Commonweal Housing’s Call for New Ideas 2021 has now passed. We want to say a massive thank you to all of you who applied and got in touch. We have been blown away by the number and quality of applications that we have received this year.
We are currently in the process of making the final decisions before announcing our new partners imminently.
Our Call for New Ideas was launched in 2020 to help us discover first-class, innovative organisations working with marginalised groups and vulnerable individuals and to support them in testing the feasibility of bold, imaginative housing-based ideas for projects addressing social injustice.
We have already started working with some incredible, forward-thinking organisations and 2021’s cohort is no different.
We have been especially interested in project ideas related to our priority areas:
- The criminal justice system
- Violence against women and girls (VAWG)
- Systemic injustices that occur at points of transition in people’s lives.
Now more than ever, we believe it’s vital to develop safe, secure and new housing solutions to these injustices: to give everyone affected by the pandemic the chance to build back lives of freedom and independence.
With the success of this year’s Call for New Ideas, we will be reopening the initiative in early-2022, so over the coming months please do consider any innovative housing-based solutions that you want to champion but need support on and we look forward to hearing from you next year.
In the meantime, if you have any questions please contact info@commonweal.org.uk.
