Quaker Social Action receives £10,000 match-funded donations to Big Give Christmas Challenge from Commonweal
Quaker Social Action has unlocked £10,000 in match-funded donations from Commonweal Housing by reaching its Big Give Challenge target in just two days.
The Challenge campaign raises funds each year for QSA’s range of services for those experiencing poverty and financial hardship. Commonweal have been proud to show our continued support for our project partner by doubling the value of each donation up to £10,000 to the campaign.
The Big Give hasn’t stopped here, however – you can still give your support to QSA’s vital work by donating here, until Tuesday 8th Dec.
Commonweal and QSA have worked together in partnership since 2017 on the Move On Up project: an innovative pilot project offering supportive shared housing to young adult carers. Over the course of its development the project has been found to fill a gap in housing provision for young adult carers as they look to their futures, including providing respite from caring, improved relationships with family members and improved outcomes in learning and employment (Learning and Work Institute, 2020).
In a year that’s seen too many experience extreme financial hardship and poverty, QSA’s fundraising will go towards helping those worst affected by the coronavirus crisis through its helpline, financial management programmes, and the Move On Up project.
